**Attention!
Due
to the Town of Chili I must discontinue doing my classes out of my house until I obtain the proper permits from the zoning
board in late May and I get the OK from the building inspectors after that.
Thanks
for your support thus far and look forward to getting through the red tape and back to having fun with all of you in the future!
New Update
Well I finally had the town building inspector
and fire Marshall over along with my boss Bob (who built the home) and his architect to find out what needs to be done. Well
the outcome was not good at all!
Along with having
to put in a "type1" hood above the island stove along with that would automatically come a Ansel fire system which
would not only cost a lot but would mean running duct work for the hood. The ceiling would need to be changed to be fire proof
and a fire door blocking off the hallway to get upstairs. The bathroom would have to be made handicap accessible, not just
the toilet but also the shower, for some reason would you believe? There would also have to be a sidewalk put in from
the driveway around the house to the patio entrance at a certain "grade" or a handrail would also need to be installed.
The worst part of all of this is that the basement
is fine like it is and and NONE of
this would need to be done if I was just having family over but once I bring the public in it all becomes considered a commercial
application.
As of right now we are looking into going to the
state to see if there is anyway around this but it looks very grim and the costs to have all this done would be tremendous!
As of now I am sorry to inform you all that I am gonna have to stop doing
the classes out of my home until we can decide what we can do.
Thanks for your patience,
Chef Tom
